The Planning Commission is an advisory board to the City Council. The Board recommends changes to the City's Master Land Use Plan and Zoning Ordinance, and makes recommendations on rezoning, land divisions, planned unit developments, subdivisions, special land use permits, and site plans.
The Mayor and City Council appoint eight of the nine members to staggered three-year terms. One member of the City Council is appointed by the Mayor and City Council to serve on the Planning Commission as a liaison. All Planning Commission members are residents of the City of Auburn Hills.
Planning Commission Members: Chairperson Tammy Hurt-Mendyka, Sam Beidoun, Anne Doyle, Chauncey Hitchcock, Councilman Robert Kittle, Veronica Mitchell, Greg Ouellette, Bob Pierce, and Cheryl Verbeke
The Planning Commission typically meets the first and third Thursday of each month. Meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 1827 N. Squirrel Road.
