Instructions and Fees for Obtaining Records

All requests for reports are subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).  You may be required to fill out a FOIA form prior to receiving a copy of any Police Record.  Requested reports are not available for a minimum of two (2) business days.

All fees will be received prior to the release of any documents held by this department.  A deposit may be required for any request which exceeds $50.00.  This deposit may not exceed one half the price of the total fee.

All fees for copying shall follow the FOIA City Resolution currently in effect at the time ($.025 per page).  Non-written documents, i.e., digital recordings, videotapes, and photographs shall be charged at the actual cost of duplication, as stated.  All FOIA requests shall be assessed fees.  Additional costs may be added, based on incremental costs for redaction or retrieval. Incremental costs are based on the hourly rate of the least paid records clerk.

Special arrangements may be made to get a report sent to you via United States mail.  To receive a report by mail, please send the required fees and a self-addressed envelope, including appropriate postage.
